Built by the original 49r Benjamin Franklin Taylor in 1866 for his sweetheart Esther. They raised their 3 children here. The house had been passed down for generations. Known to the family as “The Home Place,” it has been meticulously cared for and preserved.

Be immersed in the history of California’s Gold Rush among the original flooring, staircase, doors, and original kitchen transformed into a private bar.

The house is a short walk to dining and shopping in Downtown Grass Valley. It comfortably sleeps 12. There are 6 beds available and 3 full bathrooms. Enjoy the updated country-style kitchen with a gas stove, breakfast nook, wet bar, formal dining room, and sitting room that opens up to the large patio outside. Enjoy a soak in the clawfoot tub while basking in the mature canopy only a 150-year-old property can give. Get cozy in many of the charming reading nooks and enjoy the fresh mountain air on the large acre of a well-kept lawn.
